Dr Deepa’s Diary – August 2014

Life presents itself in very different and pleasant circumstances! And here I am on a cruise ship somewhere in middle of the Mediterranean Sea writing this blog. I feel very grateful that life has presented itself in this manner to me that I am able to enjoy some of life’s greatest experiences.

This has been my first ever time on a Cruise Holiday and without a doubt I have enjoyed every moment of it. I have been to countries and cities i would have never really dreamt of. Starting with the beautiful island of Santorini, then Istanbul followed by Kusadasi/Ephesus, Mykonos, Athens and the next stop Naples! World and nature are beautiful. And I feel absolutely blessed that I have been able to experience that.

Ayurveda Pura will be exhibiting at the Natural Products Exhibition held at the London Olympia on the weekend of 13th April 2014. I will also be there at the exhibition and it would be great to meet up with as many of you as possible at this wonderful event.

Ayurveda’s Oil Pulling Therapy:
Lately I have had several journalists contacting me inquiring about the “oil pulling” therapy. It looks like its the latest trend in the health field at the moment. Just a few pointers about this wonderful therapy. It originates from Ayurveda and the terms given to this in Ayurveda are either Gandusha or Kavalagraha.

Sesame seed oilThe best oil to use is warm Sesame Seed Oil and the best time to do this first thing every morning. Simply fill your mouth with warm sesame seed oil and move it around as though you were doing a mouth wash for approximately one minute. Then spit it out and wash your mouth thoroughly. when done regularly this one simple routine helps towards sharpened sensory functions especially the vision, smell, taste and hearing. it is great to help get rid of dark circles around the eyes and reduces the onset of fine lines and wrinkles. Of course there are many more benefits than mentioned here. But this is just a start!

Once again a reminder about our Ayurvedic Therapist Course being held in Dublin, Ireland. The first module of 5 days will run from 16th June to 20th June 2014 and the second module of 5 days will run from 1st Sept to Sept 2014. If anyone is interested in attending this course to become an Ayurvedic Therapist and gaining a Diploma in Ayurvedic Therapies, please get in touch with us so that we can forward the details to you.

Here is wishing you some warm weather where ever you are!

Namaste!

Dr Deepa’s Diary February 2014

Time flies. Not only is it 2014 but its already February 2014. January flew by and here we are almost at the end of February too. Ever since my return from India a lot of positive things have happened.

Along with being busy at work, this year I decided to spend more time with family. And this SP3SPresolution led me to spending a weekend away at Stoke Park Country Club with my family. It was absolutely beautiful and truly picture perfect.

But the most amazing thing was the wonderful people I got to meet at this place! So one never knows whats round the corner. Therefore never miss a chance or an opportunity that comes along. You might just be surprised with the results.

Talking of opportunities, we are looking for a part time Ayurvedic therapist for our Spa in London. So if you are interested or know of anyone who may be interested in taking up this post, please do let us know by emailing us at info@ayurvedapura.com.

Dr Deepa’s Diary December 2013

As the year comes to an end and everyone is getting ready for Christmas and the New Year 2014, lots of things have happened on my end.

First of all I now have entered into a decade and turned 40 this month! As I always tell all my students and clients, I aim to live for 100 years. So that means I have got 40 out of the way and 60 more to go! :)

Dr Deepa’s Diary November 2013

The last few weeks have been extremely busy on my side and also for Ayurveda Pura.

The Biggest News from my side is that I have been extremely blessed to receive a prestigious award in the field of Complementary Therapies. On 5th October at the CAMEXPO Exhibition i was presented with the “Outstanding Achievement Award – 2013” by renowned Dr Marylin Glenville. I extend my sincere gratitude to one and all who chose me for this award.

TKensington and Chelsea-20131005-00208his is what Dr Glenville read out at the award ceremony:

“””It gives me great pleasure to be asked to present the camexpo Outstanding Achievement Award for 2013. The Outstanding Achievement Award has been voted for by our industry and will now be awarded to the person that you feel most deserve this official recognition.

Here are just some of the comments made about our winner this year:

“She is the best Ayurveda practitioner I have known over the years. Her biggest asset is that she effectively combines her in-depth subject knowledge with individual client needs to achieve long lasting health benefits.  She is very passionate about Ayurveda and anyone who comes to know her realises that she lives, eats, breaths Ayurveda and has devoted herself tirelessly to spreading the knowledge and information of Ayurveda to wider world.

Kensington and Chelsea-20131005-00211She has promoted employment in the local economy by creating jobs through her company and her influence has reached to countries outside of the UK of which, I am an example.  She is genuine with her intentions to help people, be it clients, friends and family or the community around her and is an inspirational and learned teacher who is trailblazing a path for Ayurveda in the Western world.

She is an Outstanding, friendly soul who make you feel at home and is one of the most inspiring and knowledgeable tutors and therapists that I have met over a 20 year education in the healing arts. She truly deserves to be recognised!”

The camexpo 2013 Outstanding Achievement award goes to Dr Deepa Apte. Please would you come and collect your award.”””

So thank you very very much to everyone who has made this achievement possible.

We have also been very busy with various exhibitions like CAMEXPO, YOGA SHOW. The shows were greatly successful and and was really good to see some old faces at these exhibitions.

Wellness Kits
One of the most exciting part of this newsletter is the Wellness Kits that are being launched. The Anti Hangover Kit is the best companion especially for the festive season. Also the Get Fit Kit is really good for people looking to get into shape for Christmas and New Years. Try them out and let us know your feedback.

New Academy Courses in Spain and Ireland
The Academy has been equally busy. People living in Spain and Ireland, please watch this space as we will be commencing new courses in these two places very soon. Please contact us if you are based in the areas and are looking to train in Ayurvedic therapies.
