blossom-kitten-ayurveda-pura-april-2018Hay fever which is also called as allergic rhinitis shows symptoms of runny nose, sneezing, itching eyes, scratchy throat, and itching, swelling, or hives on the skin. Often, people seem to have a cold. It is due to allergies to pollen or other substances during specific times of the year. Ayurveda looks at Hay fever as a Pitta-Kapha imbalance along with presence of toxins or Ama in the body.

Foods:

  • Avoid faulty food combinations like fruit and dairy.
  • Favour more general spices like turmeric, black pepper in foods.

  • Ayurveda Pura’s Re- Vitalise Herbal Tea that contains Tulsi, is one of the best herbal drinks to relieve all allergic symptoms.
  • Consume plenty of steamed green vegetables or salads garnished with herbs and spices. You could try Ayurveda Pura’s Daily Detox Mix.

Dr Deepa’s Diary July 2014

Time is flying! It’s already summer! My son has finished his school, ready for the break and I can feel the excitement of summer everywhere.

Last month was quite hectic, exciting with plenty happening both on the professional and personal front.

As you all know I was short listed for the AWA 2014 award. Unfortunately I didn’t win any award, but I had the great honour of meeting some really accomplished women and making connections. The event not only helped me to meet new people but to make new connections on a professional and personal front.

Another exciting event was appearing on Zee TV! For all the Indians around the world, as you may know this is one of the most popular Asian channels and I was fortunate enough to be a guest on their show: Zee Companion to talk about Ayurveda http://www.zeecompanion.com/dr-deepa-apte/

Dublin was another highlight for the month. I absolutely enjoyed the five days i spent in Dublin. The weather was beautiful and I was fortunate enough to be put up along the coast of Dun Laoghaire.

I would love to introduce Patricia Drum from Monaghan in Ireland. I met up with her during my visit to Dublin. She is one of the loveliest people I have met. She is a Yoga Teacher with a huge passion for Ayurveda. To find out more about her please visit her Facebook page at: www.facebook.com/patriciadrumyoga

On a more personal front, nothing could compare to the happiness when I got to know that my son, Rohan was to receive an Award for Academic Achievement at his school, Eltham College. Being a parent, I would let go of several of my own awards to see him win just one award.

Talking about Academies, please save the date in your diaries for yet another exciting event in September. We will once again be holding an Academy evening on 18th September, Thursday, 2014. The main aim of this evening will be networking and finding more about how to use social media for Ayurveda. And I very much look forward to seeing you then.

While the sun is shining outside, I shall leave you with warm wishes for a great summer.  Wherever you are and whatever your plans are for summer, remember to integrate bits and pieces of Ayurveda into your everyday life to enjoy it more!

Dr Deepa’s Diary May 2014

What a wonderful sunny weekend we have had! Let’s hope the weather continues and helps us to get ready for summer.

As usual my schedule has been busy, hectic and exciting.

Finalist to A Prestigious Award
The most exciting news for this year has been the nomination and short listing towards the Asian Women of Achievements Award. I have been fortunate to have made it as a Finalist for the Entrepreneur category for this prestigious award. And for this I have one very wonderful person to thank. Her name is Karin Mochan. I had the great opportunity to meet her last year. And I am very grateful to her for having nominated for this Award.

Guest on Zee TV: Zee Companion: 2nd June at 6:30pm
